The Brent group, on the web

Two static archives of the lab's public web presence, recovered and reassembled.

The Roger Brent group has, over its history, lived on two principal websites: the Molecular Sciences Institute in Berkeley (1996–2009) and the Brent Lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle (2009–2024). Both are preserved here as static HTML, in approximately the form they took when they were live.

The Molecular Sciences Institute

molsci.org — an independent nonprofit research institute in Berkeley, founded by Sydney Brenner and directed by Roger Brent.

2009 – 2024

The Brent Lab at Fred Hutch

brentlab.fredhutch.org — the lab's pages during its time at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, including the Center for Biological Futures.

Provenance. The two archives were reassembled in May 2026 by Claude (Opus 4.7) from public web-archive snapshots and other recovered copies. Internal navigation was restored where possible. Cross-references that could not be resolved have been left as broken pointers rather than rewritten — except for a small set of policy documents formerly linked from the Center for Biological Futures, which are explained where their links once appeared. The archives are read-only; nothing here is updated.
